AGM NOTES  4 NOVEMBER 2009-11-03

Welcome everyone to the 4th AGM of the CAG

Introduce our guests this evening Mike Woollard our CDO from CCB at Moss Farm & Dan Musson the Facilities & Funding Manger for the north of England from EWCB at Old Trafford.

The running order is the formal proceedings followed by two short presentations from Mark Samaru to support a couple of initiatives we are hoping to set up over the coming year.

The main event will be from Mike & Dan who I hope will give us a valuable insight into the work of the CCB & how funding for projects works at the county level. Then Dan will cement the matter with how things work at the EWCB.

I would like to give a brief summary of some of our achievements over the year.

We have applied for funding for another aerator to be based with Brian at Tattenhall CC. He will also hold the Sisis autoseeder so now 2 machines in the south & 2 in the north we hope! The scarifier & aerator are being used much more than in the past which is excellent news

Our courses have been generally well supported although we have had to postpone the Int/adv course in late October due to lack of support. Our thanks to those clubs who have provided excellent facilities for the courses namely Toft & Warrington. We shall continue to hold courses next year as planned.

The CAG is represented at all meetings of the 4C’s so all the leagues, county club, county board etc are aware of our activities & our profile & stock is gradually rising

The ECB/IOG PQS initiative is now well under way with the pitch advisors assessing squares in all 3 divs of the county league. This should provide some valuable benchmarks for those clubs to work from.

Our financial position is sound which DT will tell us about

Our website is now fully functional & updated regularly; we are working on up-dating the database to make it readily accessible to the committee to increase our ability to contact members easily & quickly.

Our thanks to the 4C’s & Cheshire Cricket Board for their help & support over the past year.

Finally our secretary has as you know decided to stand down after 4 years; in fact he has been in since the beginning.

Kevin & Pauline have done a splendid job in putting this fledgling organisation on the map & their help & support has been invaluable. They have decided to hang up their boots, pack away the sweater & sell their pads as retirement seems to take up so much of their time now!!

We wish them well & hope they enjoy many more trips to the IOM & their favourite part of Portugal where the Port is made!! Watch out for the GOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
