                                                                                                October Update

Annual General Meeting

The Cheshire Association of Groundsmen is to be held at Grappenhall Cricket Club on Thursday 11th November commencing at 7.30 p.m.

A motion for an amendment to the constitution has been proposed by the present committee, can every member club please send a representative to this very important meeting. If anyone has any other business to discuss can they please inform me before the meeting. There will be a guest speaker, Ian Lacey, who is the head of professional services at the IOG. He is a very interesting speaker and will talk about the IOG and the Groundsmen Associations throughout the country.

Training Course

An intermediate/advanced 2 day course has been organised for Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd November at Hale Barns CC anyone interested in attending please contact brian.jarrard@live.co.uk. Applicants should have attended the Foundation A and Foundation B courses.

Machinery

CAG has purchased a new Groundsman aerator which is housed at Tattenhall Cricket Club and is available for members use. Other machinery is still available and these are on the website. Once again members are reminded that to give all members a fair crack of the whip if you loan a machine for a couple of days and are unable to use it because of the weather and someone else has booked it for the next two days then the machine must be returned to its base or to the next member, and the original member must rebook the machine for another free date.

CAG members are reminded that the winter spiking programme will again be available through Mark Samaru as last year.

Membership

Clubs are reminded that to obtain or maintain Focus Club status they must have at least one person as a member of the Cheshire Association of Groundsmen at an annual fee of £10. For people to obtain subsidised training then individuals must also be members of CAG. Next year we are hoping that the leagues will include the CAG levy in the league subscription for ease of collection and maintenance of our database.

Once again if anyone has any ideas to improve the Association please inform any committee member.
